The Moray Local Action Group is pleased to announce the launch of the Moray LEADER website at www.morayleader.org.uk
Part of the Scotland Rural Development Programme, LEADER is an innovative rural development funding programme which aims to improve the quality of life and economic prosperity in rural communities through locally driven rural development initiatives and projects.
The current LEADER programme will run until 2013 and Moray has been allocated £1.84million of funding, with the money coming from the Scottish Government and European Commission. The Moray Local Action Group has already committed nearly £450,000 to 18 local projects.
LEADER projects must be community driven and benefit a wide section of the community, with innovation an important part of the LEADER principle.
The new website contains details of eligibility criteria, the application process, approvals to date, news and events and contacts for the Moray LEADER team.
Moray LEADER programme manager David Watson said: “The LEADER team is here to help and we look forward to discussing some of the interesting ideas which we are anticipating.
“Members of the team can give advice on eligibility and we are eager to hear from those considering submitting an application for LEADER funds.”
